Box Time

This is my design for the box that I am going to present my work in. It is roughly the same size as A3 and is 150mm high, it will have three draws one for each of my smaller books and a tray at the top to place and of my larger work. I am going to use the laser cutter to cut it out and then assemble it myself. I have used AutoCAD to draw it up in.

Serial Vision

Today went back to the chine to retake photos for final 4 books. These books will show 4 routes and the serial visions that go with them along with a short explanation and map. I will try and bring together what I have learnt and show it in these books.

New way of looking 2:

Carrying on with this idea of taking ideas to an extreme I have looked at some of my serial visions and made them into positive and negative space and how this would affect your experience on a journey and more importantly in a space this is something that will be useful to look at in my next design project.

Reflecting on what was said on Friday and without my feed back sheet back yet. Today I decided to look at this idea of taking it to the extreme. I looked at my routes and have done some abstract paintings from them to see where these could be used as a design aid looking at shapes they create or ways of showing movement.

CRAB by the Sea

On Friday I attended the opening to the CRAB exhibition that I help put together, it was a exhibition of Sir Peter Cook and his CRAB office. Being involved in this exhibition was great experience and a good insight into what it is like to put on a professional exhibition. I also attended the Coast Symposium on Saturday, guests to this included Peter Cook who spoke shortly about some of his work.

Review Time:

Today we had a formative assessment to look at our exhibition work and see where we were at. We had Selma from CRAB as a guest to look at our work, it was good to get someone from outside who had not seen your work before to comment and give advice. There was an interesting and varied amount of work. My review seemed to go OK, but it showed me that I still have a lot to do and I need to push my work and not just stick to what I feel is safe.

Snow Day

Today we woke up to snow in Bournemouth but still we had to hand in our work for exhibition and check it against our learning out comes. After doing this we thought it would be the ideal time to go and see the chine in a different light and see it covered in snow.
